At Benavides Driving School the Repeat Offener Program is a State of Texas certified program. Benavides Driving School complies with the rules set by the Texas Department of Health and the program is held over 15 sessions at 2 sessions a week. Topics discussed are: Life Style Issues, Values, Self Esteem, Positive Thinking vs Irrational Beliefs, Goal Setting, Communication Issues, Responsibility. Physiological and Psychological Options, 12 step self help groups, Thinking Errors, Problem Solving and Action Planning.

The purpose of this program is to prevent future DWI situations and address — DWI problems with alcohol or drugs through the use of techniques such as focusing on values and improving self esteem, changing negative thoughts into positive thinking, improving communication skills, taking responsibility for decisions made, learning about the effects of drugs on the body and mind, co-dependency and relapse and prevention and developing a plan to deal with personal problems. It’s a 32 hour course and classes are twice a week at BDS.
